Understanding Lexiles
A Lexile is the measure of your child’s reading level—and the most-used literacy measure in the world. Every job requires a particular Lexile level. Now, through Beable, your child can zero in on careers of interest and develop the reading skills required by those careers. And, as a parent, you can use that information to help put your child on the path to success. Here’s how:
- Encourage your child to log into Beable and complete lessons. The lessons are precisely matched to their level and as their abilities improve, the text complexity of the lessons increases as well.
- Encourage your child to read on Beable at least two times/week for 20 minutes each time.
